Drive System Design is a global engineering consultancy specialising in the rapid engineering and development of sustainable electrified propulsion systems and associated technologies. We work directly and collaboratively with automotive, commercial vehicle, off-highway, aerospace, defence, OEMs, Tier-1s and industry research bodies through our technical centres in North America, the U.K. and India.
What you will be doing
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Cleaner to join our Facilities Team. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment at our Leamington Spa facility. This role involves routine cleaning tasks, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure high standards of cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting
* Clean and sanitise restrooms, kitchens, communal areas including desks, meeting rooms, reception, and communal spaces
* Empty bins and dispose of waste safely and appropriately
* Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue
* Clean windows, mirrors, and other glass surfaces
* Maintain cleaning equipment and report any faults or shortages
* Follow health and safety guidelines, including the safe use of chemicals
* Ensure all assigned areas meet company or client cleanliness standards
* Respond to any urgent cleaning requests or spillages, identifying and reporting all facilities issues
* Carrying out seasonal activities, such as putting up Christmas decorations, preparing for company lunches
* Ad hoc facilities activities such as painting, furniture movement etc
* Carefully handling and operating all cleaning machinery according to protocol

What you will need
* Strong attention to detail
* Ability to follow instructions and work to a schedule
* Good communication skills with the ability to multitask
* Reliability and a strong work ethic
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
* Understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures (training can be provided)
* Previous experience would be advantageous but not essential
* Be a natural collaborator, able to build and manage effective working relationships
* Have a "can do" attitude with high levels of commitment, enthusiasm and motivation
* Be courteous, friendly, and approachable
* Early start required (typically before the office opens) for approx. 6 – 7 hours per day (to be agreed)
