About the Role
We are supporting a private equity-backed carve-out of an international lubricants and marine business from a global corporate group. This is a high-profile separation programme requiring the build-out of a standalone finance function.
The Financial Controller will lead the controllership workstream, ensuring financial integrity through the transition and supporting the establishment of a robust, independent finance environment post-separation.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the controllership workstream as part of the carve-out and separation programme
* Establish standalone financial control processes, policies, and governance frameworks
* Oversee separation of financial reporting from the parent group
* Ensure integrity of balance sheet positions, including carve-out adjustments and opening balances
* Support preparation of standalone financial statements and audit readiness
* Manage finance elements of transitional service arrangements (TSAs)
* Embed a strong control environment aligned to private equity expectations
* Partner with senior leadership on financial risks, issues, and key decisions
* Support systems and data separation from a finance perspective
* Lead and develop team members where required
Requirements
* ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
* Proven experience in carve-out, separation, or complex transformation environments
* Strong technical accounting background (IFRS, statutory reporting)
* Experience in private equity-backed or high-growth environments desirable
* Strong financial controls and governance expertise
* Hands-on, delivery-focused approach
* Strong stakeholder management, including senior leadership exposure
* Available immediately or at short notice
