Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Project Manager to join our Grid Services team in Statkraft UK, focusing on battery energy storage systems. This is an 18-month Fixed Term Contract to cover maternity leave. The position can be based in either London or Glasgow.
The successful candidate will report to the Principal Project Manager within the Greener Grid Parks team. Our offices in Great Britain are located in London, Glasgow, and Cardiff. We operate on a hybrid work model (home/office) with occasional travel across the UK. The Grid Services team develops Greener Grid Parks that provide stability services to the National Energy System Operator (NESO) and the electricity market.
Responsibilities
* Develop and manage approximately three projects.
* Lead project management efforts for GB grid services and energy storage projects from site identification through pre-construction activities.
* Manage project budgets, schedules, and programs from early development to construction.
* Coordinate with external and internal consultants, including planning, land, legal, and technical experts.
* Obtain planning permissions, licenses, and discharges for pre-commencement conditions and variations.
* Identify new project opportunities and contribute to the development pipeline.
* Provide regular progress reports, risk, and opportunity analyses to management.
* Prepare and coordinate decision gate documentation.
* Engage with the team and develop market understanding.
* Collaborate with legal, land, compliance, health and safety, commercial, grid connection, and engineering colleagues.
* Negotiate agreements with landowners and representatives.
* Manage stakeholder relationships, especially with landowners, agents, and local communities.
* Coordinate with financial and technical teams to determine project strategies considering risks.
* Support the development and implementation of grid services projects and Greener Grid Parks.
* Mentor and support team members.
Qualifications
* Master's or Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field such as renewables, engineering, planning, or environmental studies.
* Experience in the energy industry with a proven track record of achieving targets. Entry level depends on experience.
* Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and other MS Office applications.
* Ability to manage relationships with landowners, authorities, advisors, and stakeholders.
* Willingness to travel within the UK.
* Legal right to work in the UK.
