Monday to Friday Salaried up to £34,000 Per Annum

Purpose
The job holder is responsible for performing supporting tasks to assist the Health and Safety team in maintaining the Health, Safety and Environmental systems, company policies and procedures.
This position would suit an individual who is looking to gain further understanding of Health and Safety within a manufacturing (FMCG) environment - The individual will also be supported in the completion of NEBOSH General certification and IOSH Managing safely course and are expected to complete all relevant training towards.
Tasks & responsibilities: (Not limited to)
* Support the improvement of existing health, safety, and environmental systems, initiatives, and campaigns.
* Provide high level administrative support to the H&S team where required.
* Be a key member of the H&S team helping to drive workplace health, safety, and environmental improvements
* Support with employee training
* Promote the reporting of accidents, incidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions at all levels.
* Support with initial investigation prep of accidents, incidents and near misses.
* Maintain and update internal and corporate ALPLA H&S systems,
* Undertake Hazard Spots, eSBOs, safety, and environmental inspections
* Responsible for PPE stock levels and the issuing of PPE where required.
* Liaise with suppliers and other third parties as / when required.
* Attend and Minute monthly Health and Safety Committee meetings.
Education / Experience
* Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and driven.
* Excellent MS Office user experience, particularly Excel and Word
* Team player with an ability to work on own initiative.
* Good organisation skills.
* Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
* A keen eye for detail.
