As Head of Education, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and operational management of Moore House Academy, Bathgate. You will drive educational innovation, maintain our high standards of teaching and learning, and ensure the continued wellbeing and progress of our students. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with our outgoing Head of Education during a dedicated handover period, gaining invaluable insight into our practices and culture.
Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Providing inspirational leadership to all staff, fostering a collaborative and high-achieving culture.
2. Developing and implementing the educational vision and strategic plan for the Academy.
3. Ensuring the delivery of a broad, balanced, and relevant curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our students.
4. Maintaining and enhancing our excellent standards of teaching, learning, and assessment.
5. Overseeing student welfare, safeguarding, and positive behaviour management.
6. Managing resources effectively and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
7. Building strong relationships with parents, carers, external agencies, and the wider community.
8. Actively participating in the planned handover process with the current Head of Education.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
9. Proven leadership experience within an educational setting, ideally with experience in specialist education.
10. A strong understanding of the needs of young people with complex needs.
11. An unwavering commitment to raising educational attainment and promoting student wellbeing.
12. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
13. A demonstrable track record of driving school improvement and innovation.
14. The ability to inspire, motivate, and empower a diverse team.
15. A relevant teaching qualification and ideally, a leadership qualification.
16. Eligibility for registration with The General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS).
