Job Summary
We are looking for a Band 3 Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our established and dynamic team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will work within a multi‑disciplinary team providing mental health support for young people aged 13‑18 in the Red Kite View Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). The role spans both the General Adolescent Unit (GAU) and the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
Based in Leeds, you may be expected to travel within the trust for training and other duties. The service operates flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver therapeutic sessions and support engagement with young people on inpatient wards.
* Provide structure and routine through a ward‑based timetable.
* Identify and facilitate meaningful, enjoyable activities for complex‑needs patients.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care.
Required Qualifications
* Band 3 occupational therapy assistant qualification or equivalent.
* Experience or knowledge of working with young people with complex mental health needs (desired but not essential).
* Understanding of values‑based recruitment and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
* Eligibility to work in the UK (visa sponsorship available only for registered healthcare practitioners).
