Carbon management is embedded in both the delivery of our infrastructure programme and in our asset management. The carbon management process is supported by tools that enable construction projects and suppliers to meet mandatory carbon assessment requirements, enabling the EA to produce a carbon footprint for assets that needs reduction in future years."
Role overview
The Asset Management Business Systems Team (AMBST) supports EA teams and suppliers in using carbon tools and ensures they become a core asset management system that works with other AMBST tools for the infrastructure programme and asset management. The role involves working with IT suppliers and EA colleagues (including FCRM, Operations teams across England and Defra’s Digital, Data and Technology Services) as well as Local Authorities, Water Companies, Internal Drainage Boards, and the civil engineering supply chain.
Key responsibilities
 * Support EA and external users of operational carbon tools
 * Manage and deliver services to users of carbon tools
 * Agree and maintain services with diverse user groups
 * Act as a senior product user for digital improvement projects of carbon tools and data
 * Plan and manage user activities in the implementation of carbon tool changes and improvements
 * Manage resources and funding for carbon tools support and maintenance
 * Collaborate with operational carbon communities and national leads as required
Team and scope
The team, Asset_Management_Business_Systems_Team (AMBST), is part of the Digital, Data and Evidence team. We manage several Asset Management IT Systems (AIMS PD PoL, PAFs, RMA Portal, FastDraft, Co-Space, Asite, SBMT) and provide system administration, user support, and advisory services on IT projects. We work with suppliers, DDTS, EA business leads and users to realise improvements that enable efficient asset management outcomes.
Experience/skills Required
 * Significant experience and knowledge in carbon management in infrastructure assets, projects or programmes
 * Experience in asset management and/or infrastructure business processes
 * Experience in digital tool development or user implementation services
 * Experience in development of training and documentation
 * Knowledge and skills in stakeholder engagement and effective communications
 * Ability to identify, analyse, evaluate, and implement improved ways of working
 * Ability to take decisions and solve complex business problems
 * Strong focus on efficiency, innovation, and quality
 * Strong focus on customers and partners and ability to build and sustain relationships
 * Ability to manage yourself and work on your own initiative
