We currently have a vacancy for a new or recent Graduate looking to start their career in HR as an HR Assistant. The role is based at our head office, within the HR team, assisting the day-to-day support of employees and the business. This is an exciting opportunity for someone beginning their career with support and training provided and a clear progression route available with the possibility to focus more on Recruitment or Human Resources.
This role would suit a well organised person with good interpersonal skills to support human resource processes and to positively promote the Barker brand.
Responsibilities will include:-
· Email and diary management.
· Support HR Advisor with daily tasks.
· Assist our In-House Recruiter with the ATS (Applicant Tracking system) in the hire of new employees.
· Attend networking events including University Fairs/College, School Open Days
· Involvement with apprenticeship/further education process and liaison with higher education providers
· Data entry onto HRIS (Human Resources Information System)
· Contribute to future improvements/processes to the HRIS.
· Raise technical query tickets via the HRIS.
· Involvement with induction and onboarding process for new starters, to include Work Experience.
· Provide data input assistance for annual appraisals and the Barker total reward package.
· Typing general employment correspondence on HR templates.
· Attend weekly HR team meetings.
· Assist in producing monthly updates on recruitment for management.

Training will be provided on our modern, cloud-based, HRIS which is designed to make HR admin more efficient and is a purpose-built alternative to doing HR via paper or spreadsheets.
Specialist Knowledge and Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent technical qualification.
* Basic understanding of recruitment process desirable.
Hours: Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5pm – office based
Holiday: 25 days + bank holidays
Probation: 6 months
