You’ll collaborate with Lead Pharmacists across Emergency Care, Surgery, Community Services, Primary Care, Mental Health, and Safe Medication Practice, alongside our senior pharmacy technician, to deliver our clinical strategy. Your role includes patient-facing sessions in your area of expertise, with full support to build on your clinical experience and progress your RPS credentialing journey. We are seeking a motivated, dynamic, and innovative pharmacist with significant clinical experience, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a clear vision for the future. You should be confident in leading a team and representing pharmacy both internally and externally. Experience in quality improvement, service development, and staff management will be an advantage. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop or extend their clinical leadership, broaden their understanding of pharmacy operations, and demonstrate impact. You will be supported to enhance your clinical, leadership, managerial, research, and strategic skills. This secondment is expected to continue beyond 31 March 2026, subject to business needs and in alignment with the Foundations for the Future programme. Main duties of the job To strategically lead, develop and implement a high-quality clinical pharmacy service as part of the multidisciplinary leadership team of the Medical Directorate. To lead on developing a strategic vision and roadmap for pharmacy services within the directorate, taking into account the diverse skills of the wider pharmacy team. To ensure the safe and effective use of medicines within the Medical directorate. To lead and manage the pharmacy clinical team working in the division To support delivery of the Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) system in conjunction with the ePMA project team and the pharmacy leadership teams on medical inpatient wards and outpatient settings. To act as a link pharmacist to the relevant clinical networks across BCUHB. This post is a secondment for maternity leave to cover the needs of the service. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Registered pharmacist with GPhC Masters Degree or equivalent in pharmacy Post-graduate diploma/MSc in relevant pharmacy area or equivalent documented experience in relevant area Desirable criteria Practicing member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society Management qualification or equivalent experience Teaching / assessing qualification Independent/supplementary prescriber MSc in advanced clinical practice or RPS credentialing at core advanced level Experience Essential criteria A substantive level of post qualification experience in primary care/secondary care. Able to demonstrate a suitable level of experience in providing specialist pharmacy services. Responsibility for performance management within pharmacy Experience of success in service development Experience of working effectively in a multi disciplinary environment Experience of writing and implementing business plans Desirable criteria Knowledge of pharmacy services to mental health and community services Experience of pharmacy management within the NHS including responsibility for staff and budgetary control.
