Early Years Group Leader - Summer - Brighton, East Sussex
Hours of work: 08:30 - 17:30
Salary: £421.52 - £628.71 per week, depending on age, experience, and qualifications.
Note: February Half Term Contracts will be issued at 2023 wage levels. 2024 wage levels will be effective from 1st April.
Report to: Early Years Manager, Camp Manager, Area Manager, and Central Office

Early Years Group Leader Duties
* Implement the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
* Assist with setting up and maintaining a welcoming, tidy base room and ensure all equipment is stored properly.
* Follow policies and procedures to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for children.
* Adhere to the activity timetable to deliver a variety of sessions as promised.
* Collaborate with staff to deliver activities effectively.
* Act as the children's Key Worker, managing communication regarding their experiences.
* Ensure children's needs are met through active supervision and attention during all times.
* Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities using available resources with enthusiasm and structure.
* Encourage children’s participation while following OFSTED guidelines.
* Get to know children as individuals and incorporate their interests into activities.
* Take responsibility for welfare and safeguarding.
* Ensure the safe use of all equipment during sessions.
* Facilitate development through Explore and Play sessions.
Requirements
* Working towards or holding a relevant childcare qualification.
* Knowledge and experience with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
* Must be 18 or over by the start date.
* Eligible to work in the UK.
* Provide satisfactory references.
* Enthusiastic, caring, organized, with excellent communication skills and initiative.
* Capable of handling unpredictable challenges in childcare.
* Obtain or have an existing enhanced DBS check.
* Attend a Virtual Assessment Event if new to Barracudas.
* Complete annual online training.
* Attend an induction training day before camp opens.
* Assist with camp pack-up at the end.

* Follow health and safety guidelines diligently.
* Organize activities appropriate to your qualifications and skills.
* Encourage participation in new activities and follow the timetable.
* Maintain children’s safety and well-being, respecting their individuality.
* Follow all camp procedures and guidelines for child welfare and safety.
* Report child protection concerns promptly.
* Make reasonable adjustments for children with additional needs or medical conditions.
* Support delivery of Skills Builder sessions if staffing allows.
* Support swimming sessions, bringing swimwear; spare T-shirts are available.
* Perform other duties as required to support the organization’s objectives.
