Job Description:
Painters are responsible for site preparation, colour matching, surface preparation and applying paint and other finishes to walls, ceilings, furniture and other surfaces. A painter and decorator uses various tools and materials to improve the texture and appearance of surfaces. You will need to paint interior and exterior surfaces using varnishes, paint, wall fabrics, stains or sealers. It can also require the preparation of walls and surfaces by plastering, removing old paint, sandpapering or adding filler. Duties typically include:
1. Prioritise occupational health, safety, and environmental compliance to protect the well-being of oneself and others, promptly reporting any non-compliance.
2. Adhere to current building regulations, quality standards, and work instructions while performing tasks.
3. Prepare the work site, including layout and material, tool, and equipment selection.
4. Conduct minor repairs or modifications on completed surfaces
5. Understand different paint types and their application
