Job Overview
We are seeking an organised and proactive Supply Chain & Production Planner to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating procurement, stock control, and production planning activities to ensure materials and works orders are managed accurately and efficiently. This role requires strong ERP/MRP skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with suppliers, production teams, and internal stakeholders to achieve on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and high levels of customer satisfaction.
Duties
* Coordinate procurement activities, including placing purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, and maintaining supplier records.
* Manage production planning by raising and administering works orders within the ERP/MRP system.
* Allocate stock to works orders, issue production paperwork, and track order progress through to completion.
* Monitor stock levels and ensure accurate inventory control, including transfers, reconciliations, and reporting.
* Liaise with suppliers to negotiate terms, resolve delivery issues, and monitor performance against KPIs.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure production schedules align with customer requirements.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce costs.
* Maintain compliance with ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards, contributing to audits and quality system requirements.
* Provide accurate data and reports to the Sales & Operations Manager on procurement, stock, and production planning performance.
Qualifications
* 2+ years of proven experience in supply chain, production planning, or procurement.
* Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (FactoryMaster or similar) is essential.
* Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma is advantageous.
* Solid understanding of stock control and works order processes within a manufacturing environment.
* Excellent analytical and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and production demands.
