PCN Safeguarding Co-ordinator

To work closely with the childsafeguarding leads in each practice and the wider PCN toprovide co- ordination and administration support in relation to adult andchild safeguarding. The post holder will be a key member of the team whoseoverarching goal is to support the practices with child safeguarding issues and to ensureprocesses are up to date, maintainedand standardized across the PCN. This role will act as a contactand liaison for the PCN with external safeguarding services andorganisations.
Main duties of the job
This role is central to supporting adult and child safeguarding across GP practices within the North Devon Coastal Primary Care Network (PCN). The postholder will act as the main point of contact for safeguarding leads within member practices, as well as external services and organisations. Responsibilities include coordinating quarterly PCN safeguarding meetings - managing agendas, minutes, and follow-ups - as well as attending relevant child and adult safeguarding meetings when needed. The role also involves sharing up-to-date safeguarding guidance and training opportunities, maintaining accurate safeguarding contact lists and registers, and ensuring smooth communication between practices and external agencies. The postholder will compile safeguarding reports with GPs, liaise with social workers, school nurses, and health visitors, and manage pilot projects or audits related to safeguarding workstreams. They will also support the standardisation and implementation of safeguarding processes across the PCN, ensure ongoing compliance with current guidance, and maintain access to central platforms like Rights for Children. This position requires excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to safeguarding best practices.

Job responsibilities
Key responsibilities for the position will include but are not limited to thefollowing:
Act as the main point of contact for the member practices adult and child safeguardingadministration and GP leads.
Act as the main PCN point of contactfor external safeguarding servicesand organisations.
Coordinate quarterly PCN level safeguarding meetings includingagendas, minute taking and distribution and action any outcomes as necessary.
Ensure latestguidance and information (including trainingopportunities) is shared with the relevant teammembers.
Attend relevanttraining courses and forward traininginformation and updates to therelevant team members.
Arrange various1:1 safeguarding meeting
Maintain and continue to improve communication and links with external safeguarding services andorganisations.
Attend childprotection meetings and Team aroundthe Family (TAF) meetings on occasion and be aconduit between them and GPs as appropriate for decisions involving thechild/family.
Attendrelevant adult safeguarding meetings which would involve health and social careprofessionals and family members of patients.
Compilesafeguarding reports on behalf of and in liaison with the member practices GPs in preparation for safeguarding meetings.
Maintain the safeguarding contact list and ensure it is kept up to date.
To ensure externalservices and organisations are aware of any relevant changes in PCN personnelor procedures in relation to safeguarding.
Ensure each practice maintains its own safeguarding register and it iskept up to date and accurate.
Undertake and coordinate safeguarding audits across the PCN.
Keep up to date with latestsafeguarding guidance and rules.
Coordinate and lead safeguarding administrator meetings as andwhen required.
Share good practice and continue to roll out standardised processes and systems. Ensuring these processes and systems arefully embedded within each practiced and maintained.
Manage any pilot projectsrelating to safeguarding workstreams.
Receive and action tasksfrom clinicians and the administration teams.
Chase reportsand updates from social workers,school nurses, health visitors and other professionalsfrom external children and adult services and organisations.
Access and add relevantinformation to Rightsfor Children (central online portal) for Early Help andfeedback and update the GPs as needed.
Liaise with otherPCN services as needed.
This job will be located in all three of the practices (Ilfracombe, Braunton, South Molton) and the job will require spending time in each practice.

Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communicational (written and oral) skills
Experience
* Have experience of working with the general public
* Have experience of administrative duties or working in an administrative role
* Have experience of working in a health care, primary care or education setting
* Have experience of working within safeguarding
* Have experience of co-ordinating pieces of work/projects
