CS 31744 Mechanical Technician - Power Facility - Days / Monday to Friday
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £48,000 - £54,000
Alecto Recruitment is seeking Mechanical Technicians with a background in the power industry for an EFW power station in Milton Keynes. This role plays a key part in the maintenance department, providing leadership and mentorship to the mechanical team and contributing to the ongoing engineering maintenance routine.
Role: Monday to Friday (8am-4pm), with potential for additional earnings and career development.
Responsibilities
1. Perform preventative and reactive mechanical maintenance on all mechanical plant, including waste processing and power equipment such as steam turbines, CHP, pumps, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.
2. Oversee contractors, and write risk assessments and method statements.
3. Utilize Siemens PCS7 & SCADA operating systems and CMMS.
4. Support outages from planning through management and coordination.
5. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults.
Applicant Profile
* Experience working with machinery such as steam valves, steam turbines, hydraulic systems, or CHP gas engines.
* Relevant technical engineering qualification — minimum apprentice trained / Level 3 C&G/NVQ, ideally HNC or HND.
* Mechanical experience in power or heavy engineering environments, including refineries, power stations, anaerobic digestion facilities, or landfill gas facilities.
* Experience in roles such as Royal Navy engineers performing mechanical maintenance tasks is desirable.
