Our client, a fit-out and main contracting construction company based in the North East, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver high-quality projects across the region.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Project Manager with a strong background in education sector builds and refurbishments (schools, colleges, academies) and wider commercial construction such as leisure centres and offices.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all phases of construction projects from inception through to completion.
Oversee site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Coordinate and motivate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project goals.
Maintain clear communication with clients, consultants, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Monitor progress, resolve technical or logistical issues, and ensure compliance with design specifications and building regulations.
Implement and uphold strict Health & Safety standards in line with SMSTS guidelines.
Prepare and maintain project documentation including programmes, site diaries, and progress reports.
Requirements:
Proven experience managing fit-out or main contracting projects, ideally within the education sector (schools experience essential).
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
Excellent organisational abilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
SMSTS, First Aid, and CSCS qualifications required.
Degree or technical qualification in Construction Management or a related field (desirable).
Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel within the region.
