We are currently recruiting dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils in a range of inclusive and welcoming schools across Wolverhampton, Walsall, and Dudley. About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support children with a range of special educational needs including:
* Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
* ADHD
* Speech, language and communication needs
* SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health)
* Global developmental delays
* Physical disabilities and complex learning needs
You may be working one-to-one or supporting small groups both inside and outside the classroom. You'll play a key role in supporting the class teacher, delivering interventions, and ensuring all pupils feel included, supported, and safe.

Key Responsibilities:
* Support the learning and development of pupils with additional needs
* Implement strategies and interventions as advised by the SENCO or external professionals
* Use resources like PECS, visual schedules, and Makaton where required
* Provide personal care if required (training will be provided)
* Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
* Keep detailed records of pupil progress and contribute to review meetings and reports

Essential Requirements:
* Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning, Childcare, or equivalent
* Previous experience working with SEN pupils in a school, nursery, or care setting
* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Calm, adaptable, and proactive approach to behaviour and classroom support
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

Desirable:
* Familiarity with EHCPs and SEN strategies
* Additional training such as Team Teach, Autism Awareness, or Makaton
* Flexibility to support in mainstream or specialist SEN schools
