Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced RNLD or RMN to manage the day-to-day running of the Primary Care Liaison Team based in the City and County of Nottingham and the Acute Liaison Team based in NUH Hospitals. The post holder’s key role is to lead the primary care team to support adults with intellectual disabilities to access mainstream health services. The post holder will lead on the development of GP registers for those identified as having a learning disability registered with a GP in Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire.


Role and Responsibilities

* To provide effective leadership to all staff within the allocated team.
* To demonstrate clinical leadership through personal practice.
* To manage and monitor daily staffing levels and skill mix to comply with agreed staffing levels, providing an effective and safe service.
* To be responsible for recruitment and selection, performance management, sickness absence, appraisal and personal development, grievance and disciplinary issues in accordance with HR policies.
* To identify learning and development needs of staff and facilitate the required training.
* To provide clinical advice on complex issues and referrals to members of the team.
* To work collaboratively with the care team in facilitating timely assessments within the service.
* To ensure care is delivered within evidence of best practice.

We deliver intellectual disability, mental health, community health, forensic, and offender healthcare services across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, and South Yorkshire. Our care is provided from over 200 sites, spanning community locations, acute settings, and secure environments, including prisons. We are one of the largest mental health and community Trusts in the East Midlands and one of Nottinghamshire's biggest employers. We also host national and regional services, such as the National High Secure Deaf Service and the Nottingham Centre for Transgender Health.

Qualifications & Skills

* Sound knowledge and experience of working with people with an Intellectual Disability.
* Excellent leadership skills.
* Relevant post registration experience.
* Evidence of maintaining CPD.
* Evidence of supervision, coaching and mentoring skills.
* Previous experience of leading/managing staff/teams.
* Self‑motivated and enthusiastic.
* Excellent time management skills.
* To be flexible to cover the needs and demands of the service.
* Team player.
* Able to work autonomously and on own initiative.
* Able to support the staff team in making clinical decisions.
* Ability to make decisions around risk.
* Able to work under demands of the services.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Positive role model.
* To have good IT skills and knowledge of Rio system.
* Ability to demonstrate critical awareness of current issues.
* Ability to manage conflict and negotiate resolution.
* To hold a current UK driving licence and be able to use own car for work purposes.
