Overview
A well-known organisation based in Inverness is seeking a Network Engineer to join their team on an initial 6-month contract. This opportunity is open to both junior and senior candidates, offering flexibility for individuals at different stages of their careers. You will play a key role in supporting and enhancing a robust network infrastructure within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure solutions
* Monitor network performance and ensure optimal availability and reliability
* Troubleshoot network issues and provide timely resolution
* Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, and related network hardware
* Collaborate with internal teams to support ongoing projects and upgrades
* Ensure network security best practices are followed
* Maintain documentation of network configurations and changes
Key Skills & Experience
* Experience working as a Network Engineer or in a similar networking role (levels of experience considered from junior through to senior)
* Strong understanding of networking protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
* Exposure to enterprise networking technologies (e.g. Cisco, Juniper, or similar)
* Familiarity with network security principles, including firewalls and VPNs
* Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Summary
* On-site presence required 3-5 days a week in Inverness
* Day rate between £200 and £500 depending upon experience
* Outside IR35
* 6-month contract
