Spectrum Insurance Services Limited provide value add-on motor products to brokers and dealers, as well as direct to market. We sell and administer GAP, warranty and Cosmetic policies for a variety of motor vehicles. We have seen an unprecedented increase in business over the last two years and are continually striving to increase our business with existing and new products. Due to the retirement of our current Compliance Administrator we are looking to recruit an experience Compliance Officer to work with our Compliance Consultant and our newly appointed Audit Administrator.
Job Purpose/Role overview:
Working as part of the 'Line 2' compliance function, the role is role is responsible for the day-to-day compliance, policies and procedures oversight across the business, and assisting colleagues with the control, management, mitigation, and administration of risk across the business.
Working closely with business colleagues and management to ensure that the business is adhering to the regulations, stipulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), the Company's compliance & risk framework, and the policies & procedures of the business.
The role acts as a support to the CEO/CFO and senior management team in respect of regulatory compliance and for the identification, management, and mitigation of risk.
The role works closely with a compliance colleague to ensure compliance with ICO standards and requirements.

Able to self-motivate, develop, and deliver compliance & procedures oversight plans, the individual will be a team player who can communicate effectively and build relationships both internally and externally.
The role requires a working knowledge and experience of compliance with UK general insurance regulatory rules & principles (including Consumer Duty) and risk processes and procedures within the general insurance sector (insurer/intermediary/administrator functions).
Day to day activities include:
* Compliance framework: Assess the effectiveness of the Company's compliance oversight & control framework, proposing strengthening as appropriate.
* Compliance policy implementation & management: Assist in the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures, ensuring that they align with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
* Company policies & procedures: Assist in the development and implementation of company policies & procedures, including the scheduled review and updating.
* Audit & risk assessment: Conduct regular compliance oversight audits and risk assessments to identify potential issues and recommend strengthening as appropriate. Track implementation of agreed actions.
* Record keeping & reporting: Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, preparing reports and communicating findings to appropriate stakeholders.
* ISO compliance: Support the Quality Management System (QMS) processes for ISO to ensure that they are adequate and maintained in accordance with the Standard requirements.
* Quality assurance: Assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
* Regulatory reporting: Assist the CFO and Head of Finance with the compilation of data and documentation for the scheduled regulatory reports to the FCA.
* Training & competence: Support the annual training & competence programmes for colleagues
* Isurer audits: Co-ordinate, support and participate in insurer audits as appropriate.
* Onboarding and due diligence oversight: Support the onboarding of new and existing client relationships.
* Compliance & governance reporting: Support the preparation of the Compliance Reports for appropriate board and committee oversight, including the preparation of GI Pricing & Value Measures reporting and annual Product Assessment Reviews, working closely with underwriting colleagues.
* Risk management oversight: Support and co-ordinate the identification, control, and mitigation of risk, including the maintenance/update of the Company's risk and breach registers.
* Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCP/DR): Co-ordinate and support the annual update of the relevant plans, including the scheduled testing of such plans.
* Systems & controls: Propose ideas and opportunities that strengthen the systems & controls of the business, including reporting any potential or actual compliance risks and issues to the Head of HR or CEO if appropriate.
Key Skills and Experience
* Strong understanding of the FCAs regulatory framework.
* Working knowledge of regulatory requirements of an insurance administrator operating in the general insurance sector, ideally for warranty insurance products.
* Excellent relationship management skills and experience of building successful long-term relationships, both internal & external.
* Strong organisational skills and prioritisation, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and meet crucial deadlines.
* Accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when handling compliance documentation, data and reporting.
* Evidence of personal and professional development and/or commitment to study for the Chartered Insurance Institute exams (ACII)
* Pragmatic and confident decision maker with good analytical and common-sense reasoning skills
* Flexible and highly motivated to help the business achieve its targets.
This role is office based Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
Salary will be dependent on experience.
