National Account Manager – Healthcare – Boots & Superdrug – Home Based (1 day in London each fortnight)

Following significant growth and increasing strategic importance within Boots and Superdrug, the business is now looking to appoint a National Account Manager to help accelerate performance and shape future success across these key accounts.


Role


As National Account Manager, you will take full ownership of the Boots and Superdrug accounts, managing and developing a portfolio of branded healthcare products in line with the company’s commercial strategy.


Working cross-functionally with marketing, finance, sales planning and logistics, you will create and deliver robust joint business plans, ensure promotional activity and new product launches are fully optimised, and maximise brand share and profitability.


Key responsibilities include:


* Managing and developing the Boots and Superdrug accounts in line with company and account strategy
* Creating, implementing and delivering account plans that drive sustainable growth
* Negotiating trading terms, promotions and commercial agreements to maximise sales and margin
* Providing accurate sales volume and value forecasts
* Managing promotional spend, budgets and ROI
* Monitoring account performance against KPIs and delivering budgeted sales targets
* Analysing market and competitor activity and adapting strategy accordingly
* Building strong, multi-level relationships internally and with the customer


Requirements


To be considered for this role, you will be a driven, commercially astute National Account Manager with proven experience managing and growing major UK pharmacy or health & beauty retail accounts, ideally including Boots and/or Superdrug.


You will bring:

* Minimum 1+ years’ national account management experience within FMCG (branded experience essential)
* Experience managing Boots and/or Superdrug is highly desirable
* A strong track record of delivering account growth through effective joint business planning
* Excellent negotiation skills (GAP negotiation training highly advantageous)
* Strong commercial acumen with experience managing P&L, trade spend and promotional ROI
* Strong analytical skills with intermediate Excel capability
* The ability to build and manage effective multi-level customer relationships


Salary & Benefits


* £50,000 – £60,000 basic salary
* 15% annual bonus
* Company car or car allowance (£5,500)
* Pension: 6% employer contribution plus 3% employee contribution, with employer matching up to 10%
* Life assurance: 4 x basic salary (option to include partner)
* Private Medical Insurance (BUPA)
* Group Income Protection
* Holiday: 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays


Location


This is a home-based role, with an expectation to attend the London head office once a fortnight and travel to Boots and Superdrug head offices as required.
