TEAM LEADER/SENIOR HOUSING SUPPORT WORKER - - Housing support work experience is NEEDED - Management/senior role experience is needed for transferable skills. - The post holder is responsible for providing a support service to men who are fleeing or surviving domestic abuse by identifying their needs and agreeing a programme of support via floating support, telephone support or housing related support. · To ensure that the telephone helpline is staffed and to support volunteers to staff the helpline to ensure that the service is accessible to service users. · To ensure service users receive an intensive housing management and housing support service at our Crash Pad and longer term accommodation units. · To accept men into the Service crash pad accommodation and longer term accommodation and to ensure that they get a high level of support in order for them to move on into more appropriate accommodation. · To ensure a housing related support service is delivered whilst working in conjunction with housing providers that we enter into working arrangements with. · To provide practical and emotional support in order to assist, promote and enable service users to move on into independent accommodation. · To provide emotional support to men who have experienced domestic abuse with the aim of enabling them to develop the skills and resources necessary to move on and maintain independence and self-reliance. Working towards integrating them into the wider community. To be proactive in the supporting and empowering service users i.e. accompanying them to external appointments and sometimes acting as their advocate e.g. GP’s, substance support services, health clinics etc. · To provide and promote practical help and support to service users in order to assist in the development of their life skills and enable them to secure independent accommodation i.e. become secure tenants with landlords and/or look at alternative move-on accommodation routes · In accordance with the service's Policies and Procedures, to ensure the efficient day-to-day running of all its services in order to promote and encourage good practice. · To formally supervise Supported Housing Officer’s and volunteers as designated to you and within the service's Support and Supervision policy and to ensure that staff have access to job related training and development. · To manage staff in line with HR policies and procedures, authorising leave and time off in lieu as per conditions laid out in our employee handbook, liaising with the Service Manager to ensure that adequate staffing levels are maintained at all times. · In the absence of the manager to supervise the other Supported Housing Officers, giving day to day guidance and support around their workload · To keep in good communication with the Service Manager keeping her/him up to speed and handing over any issues that have arisen · To conduct annual appraisals with the staff/ volunteers that you are designated to line manage. · To complete back to work interviews and sickness paperwork with the staff you are designated to line manage and to notify finance of all sickness or other absence periods. · To monitor sickness levels within the team that you are designated to line manage. · In conjunction with the Service Manager to keep internal monitoring information/spreadsheets up to date so that we can provide good information to funders. · To help the Head of Service/ Service Manager to complete annual reports to funders. · To complete any other delegated tasks agreed with your line manager
