We are looking for a highly motivated specialist clinical expert within the field of resuscitation, simulation and / or human factors to join and help shape the team and service over the coming years.
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside the Head of resuscitation and simulation services lead the delivery of essential programmes of work, which supports the Trust’s continuous patient safety and improvement culture.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in delivering, and developing others, to achieve service improvements as well as being a specialist in resuscitation and simulation.

Main duties of the job
You will be a specialist clinical expert within the field of resuscitation, simulation and / or human factors. You will manage the running of the resuscitation operational service on a day to day basis, under the Head of Resuscitation. You will provide specialist knowledge, professional advice and clinical support for all Trust staff, ensuring resuscitation quality standards are met.
You will provide specialist advice a to clinicians in all aspects of resuscitation practice.You will provide specialist education and training to multi-professional staff, internal and external to the Trust.
As a clinical expert you will receive complex local and national information that requires analysis, interpretation and to inform operational judgement. This will support you to leadthe development and implementation of the Trust wide resuscitation operational service, policy development and clinical audit and a practical application of expertise within clinical practice.
The post holder will deputies for the Head of Resuscitation and lead at a strategic and system level for the development of work-based systems relating to resuscitation, deteriorating patient education, as well as simulation and/ or human factors education.
You will provide leadership and management to the Resuscitation and Simulation Education Facilitators, overseeing the smooth running of the educational delivery and daily resuscitation operational service.

Person specification
Experience
* Minimum of 3 years Acute/critical care nursing experience with advanced resuscitation/clinical skills.
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience at a Band 6 in a resuscitation role with leadership and managerial experience.
* Effective people management skills e.g. recruitment & selection, induction, appraisal, managing performance
* Excellent analytical skills for processing the receiving, interpreting and delivery of complex information.
* Applied knowledge of Quality Improvement methodologies
* A proven track record of training needs analysis, developing, delivering, facilitating and evaluating training.
* Experience of investigating serious incidents within a large complex organisation using a human factors systematic approach
Person specification
* Motivated, and able to articulate reasons for desire, to work in this clinical area.
* Ability to manually handle patients and equipment e.g. patient hoists, commodes, wheelchairs etc.
* Dexterity and accuracy required to perform physical skills with a high degree of precision, for example cannulation and defibrillation and airway management.
