We are looking for an operational Finance Controller from Manufacturing or Engineering with Start-up/Scale-up experience.
This role will take ownership of setting up financial systems & processes within a scaling manufacturing organisation.
The Financial Controller will:
Own and manage the company's day‑to‑day financial operations, including maintaining accurate records and overseeing payables, receivables, and bank reconciliations.
Maintain full visibility of the company's cashflow position, producing short- and medium‑term forecasts to support informed financial decision‑making.
Prepare month‑end management information and reporting packs, supporting budgeting, forecasting, and smooth month‑end close processes.
Coordinate payroll with external providers, managing monthly payroll inputs, approvals, and staff expense reimbursements.
Support financial modelling, scenario planning, and forward‑looking analysis alongside the Finance Director to aid strategy and investment readiness.
Oversee HR and people administration, including contracts, onboarding, personnel records, and compliance with employment policies.
The Financial Controller will have:
Experience working within Manufacturing or Engineering organisations (ESSENTIAL).
Experience working in a Start-up/Scale-up environment (ESSENTIAL).
Strong experience in a similar finance role (e.g., Finance Manager, Assistant FC, Senior Bookkeeper) within the manufacturing engineering industry.
Excellent working knowledge of core accounting processes.
Proven cashflow management experience, including forecasting and day‑to‑day monitoring.
Solid understanding of payables, receivables, and credit control, with the ability to manage them independently.
Exceptional attention to detail, organisation, and accuracy in all financial work.
ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (desirable).
