Job Title: Lead FP&A Analyst

We provide warship automation systems through control and simulation solutions, in service on Albion Class Landing Platform Docks and Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers, with ongoing development for Type 26 and Type 31 Frigates.
Responsibilities include leading the FP&A team, providing financial forecasts, managing the annual indirect budgeting process, annual operating plan, variance analysis, and special projects. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role involves preparing business and financial presentations and analysis to support decision-making.

Role Responsibilities:
* Lead financial reporting for the business unit, routine and non-routine
* Understand advanced FP&A concepts and communicate effectively with management
* Prepare monthly short-term forecasts and annual operating plans with detailed schedules
* Develop indirect rate models and analyze rate variances
* Assess financial forecasts and performance against targets
* Support internal reviews and senior management presentations
* Conduct variance analysis of actual vs. forecast performance
* Manage department budgets and indirect rate forecasts
* Develop financial models, forecasting tools, and dashboards to improve efficiency
* Analyze trends in orders, sales, costs, profit, and cash, providing strategic recommendations
* Coordinate timely submissions of reports and data requests
Required Skills and Experience:
* Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACMA, etc.) with at least 5 years post-qualification experience
* Strong understanding of accounting and finance principles; experience with single-source accounting is a bonus
* Minimum 5 years in a similar role within government contracting or related industries
