SEN Teaching Assistant (Part-Time) – DE23, Derby Location: DE23, Derby Contract Type: Flexible, part-time Start Date: January 2026 Pay Rate: £90–£120 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities) Qualification Required: Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant / relevant qualification Overview Education Personnel are recruiting a part-time SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school within the DE23 area. This SEN TA role involves providing targeted SEN support on a flexible timetable across the school week. The school is known for its structured approach to learning and its clear expectations around behaviour, routines, and classroom engagement. SEN support is planned carefully to help pupils remain settled, follow lesson input, and access the curriculum alongside their peers. There is a strong emphasis on consistency, with clear strategies used across classrooms and shared between staff. Teaching Assistants play an active role in supporting attention, task completion, and positive classroom behaviour, particularly during core subjects. Key Responsibilities • Provide 1:1 SEN support, adapting learning activities to meet individual needs • Support learning across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 where required • Assist with planning, delivery, and assessment alongside the class teacher • Monitor progress and help implement targeted interventions • Support behaviour and emotional regulation using agreed strategies • Contribute to reviews, meetings, and wider school activities when needed The Ideal Candidate • Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification • Has experience supporting pupils with SEN in a UK primary setting • Confident working 1:1 and adapting learning in real time • Calm, consistent, and confident with behaviour management • Communicates well with pupils, staff, and parents • Willing to be involved in school life and ongoing training Why Apply Through Education Personnel?
