Offer description

Morton Fraser MacRoberts is a new style law firm. This role requires full office attendance five days a week and offers an agile work environment.


Summary of Role

Carry out administrative processes for unsecured and secured debt recovery.


Key Tasks

* Ensure all incoming calls are answered within an acceptable time and enquiries are passed on.
* Perform conflict checks from YK team and MFMac.
* Review client instructions, open cases, issue Letters Before Action, and liaise with clients and debtors regarding process and progress.
* Print, collate, and send outgoing mail, complete proof of posting, update cases, and pass any cheques to the Finance Team.
* Take debtor payments over the phone in compliance with internal procedures.
* Raise straightforward court actions and process decisions or decrees as required.
* Retrieve Civil Online timetables, update case management system, prepare and serve court forms, and download decisions from Civil Online.
* Carry out other associated administrative duties such as scanning, filing, and photocopying.
* Process web contacts for distribution.
* Support other team members with their matters.


Qualifications and Experience

* At least one year's experience in an administrative role.
* Experience in a legal environment desirable but not essential.
* Paralegal work experience desirable but not essential.

* Excellent communication skills; articulate, clear, concise, and free of jargon.
* Ability to work within a team and autonomously on own initiative.
* Personable and adept at building and developing client relationships.
* Confident and belief in own ability.
* Committed to providing a good client experience and willing to put in extra time and effort when required.
