Job Title: SEND Teaching & Support Assistant
We are currently partnered with a Multi-Academy Trust in East Sussex seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants for their SEN schools.
Working with young people can be rewarding yet challenging, requiring patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
The role of the SEND Teaching & Support Assistant involves supporting students with identified Special Educational Needs or disabilities. Your goal will be to remove barriers to learning, facilitate engagement, and help students reach their full potential.
Experience in working with young people is beneficial, but we welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in supporting individuals with additional needs or care work.

Responsibilities of a SEND Teaching & Support Assistant
* Build and maintain successful relationships with young people.
* Support individual pupils or groups in various learning environments.
* Provide role-modelling and mentoring support.
* Assist with physical, personal, or medical needs to promote independence.
* Implement educational programmes tailored to young people's needs.
* Deliver activities to small groups of students.
* Record observations on behaviour and progress.
* Experience with challenging behaviour is desirable.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in settings such as youth offending services, emergency services, residential care, youth services, creative industries, sports coaching, or graduates in Drama, Psychology, or Sports Studies.

Requirements
* A DBS certificate with a valid subscription to the update service or willingness to obtain one.
* Two professional references from within the last three years.
* Commitment to safeguarding young people.

Pay rates are inclusive of holiday pay. This position is temporary, with potential for permanent roles later.
