Overview
Axon Moore are working with a family run, SME business based in Tameside to appoint a Senior Assistant Accountant. The business is very well established, has grown significantly through acquisition and they are a well-known business in the market. With a small finance team, it will be ideal for someone whos local and is looking for a busy and interesting role. The role covers month-end, management accounts prep for 2 smaller entities, reconciliations and overseeing the AP and AR function with one junior member of staff. We are also open to someone less experienced whos looking for more exposure or a more varied role.
Salary and benefits
Salary - £32,000 - £37,000 DOE. Study support would be available, 25 days holiday plus banks, pension, free parking on-site, hybrid working 1 day from home.
Responsibilities
* Prepare the monthly management accounts and VAT returns for 2 small entities.
* Balance sheet reconciliations.
* Journal posting.
* Bank reconciliations.
* Cash management.
* Revenue reconciliations across various selling platforms.
* Preparation of payment runs.
* Oversee AP and AR including reviews of debtors/creditors and manage and ageing items.
* Managing stock - imports experience would be beneficial.
* Other ad-hoc duties as required.
Experience & Skill Requirements
* Part or Fully Qualified AAT or Qualified by Experience.
* Good knowledge of excel (vlookups, pivot tables, etc.).
* Experience using Sage would be beneficial.
* Experience with stock would be highly beneficial.
* Ability to multi-task, prioritise work and meet deadlines.
* Demonstrate accuracy and pay attention to detail.
* Strong interpersonal skills - approachable and down to earth with good communication skills.
