Job Title: Social Care Consultant - Residential Children's Services
Location: Remote (with travel across Greater London)
Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 per year (including bonus)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Social Care Consultant to provide expert guidance, oversight, and strategic support across children's residential homes in Greater London.
This is a senior-level consultancy role with a direct influence on service quality and outcomes for children and young people. You will act as a trusted advisor to Registered Managers and leadership teams, ensuring high standards of care, embedding safeguarding, and driving continuous improvement across all services.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure homes meet and exceed Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards.
* Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional consultancy to Registered Managers.
* Lead on safeguarding practices, ensuring safe, transparent, and accountable care.
* Support services through Ofsted inspections, with the ambition of achieving 'Good' or 'Outstanding'.
* Advise on operational efficiency, including staffing models, budgets, and resource management.
* Build positive relationships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory bodies.
* Support workforce development, training, and performance management.
* Promote a culture of reflection, accountability, and learning across services.
About You
* At least 3 years' senior leadership or consultancy experience in children's residential care.
* NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/working towards).
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted frameworks, and compliance requirements.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
* Proven success in influencing practice and raising service standards.
* Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across Greater London.
