Get Golfing CIO is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Golf Operations Assistant to join the team at Warley Park Golf Club. As a charity supporting struggling golf facilities in England, we are passionate about preserving and reviving the sport of golf by providing exceptional experiences for our members and visitors.
The Role
The Golf Operations Assistant will help deliver a smooth and efficient operation for all users of the golf course, ensuring attentive and efficient service while enhancing the overall customer and member experience. They will use Get Golfing's golf management software, Golf Manager, to ensure a high-quality experience for the club's members, guests, and visitors.
This is a casual position at minimum wage.
Responsibilities
1. Daily Golf Operations: Manage all aspects of daily golf operations, optimise tee-time reservations to maximise revenues, ensure efficient course flow, and implement policies like 'pairing up' to maximise playing opportunities.
2. Golf Retail: Maintain the golf shop inventory, supervise the upkeep of golf buggies, rental clubs, and ensure all equipment remains in excellent condition. Ensure buggy rentals have signed liability forms.
3. Deliver Exceptional Customer Service: Communicate with team members and provide high-level service to members and guests. Address inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally to maintain high standards.
4. Golf Days & Societies: Manage golf day and society experiences, ensuring value for money and increasing repeat bookings. Upsell accessories and retail items where possible.
5. Event & Tournament Support: Assist in organizing club competitions, corporate days, and tournaments, including scoring and player coordination.
6. Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including cart operation, course regulations, and emergency procedures.
7. Communication with Grounds Team: Liaise with greenkeepers and course staff regarding course conditions, maintenance, and player concerns.
Requirements
1. Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
2. Genuine passion for golf and a good understanding of the game, rules, and industry landscape.
3. Proficiency in 'Golf Manager' software and Microsoft Office Suite.
4. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
5. Proactive, results-oriented, and strategic thinking.
6. Ability to work independently and make effective decisions.
7. Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
8. Strong work ethic and understanding of golf's demands.
