Senior Diagnostic Technician - Kettering Independent Garage
1. Position: Senior Diagnostic Technician
2. Location: Kettering
3. Basic Salary: Up to £40,000 + Overtime (Negotiable depending on experience)
4. Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
5. Overtime: Paid at 1.5x hourly rate (including weekend work)
Our client, a busy and well-established independent garage in Kettering, is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Diagnostic Technician to join their growing team. Specialising in AC/HVAC cooling systems, the business also carries out servicing, maintenance, and repairs across all makes and models, including hybrid and electric vehicles.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled technician with strong diagnostic abilities who is looking to work within a modern workshop alongside a supportive and professional team.
Vehicle Technician Responsibilities:
6. Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical faults
7. Carry out advanced vehicle diagnostics using the latest equipment
8. Complete servicing, maintenance, and repair work to a high standard
9. Work on AC/HVAC cooling systems and EV technology
10. Perform MOT preparation and repair work
11. Support and assist junior technicians where required
12. Ensure all work is completed efficiently and within agreed timeframes
Vehicle Technician Requirements:
13. Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician / Diagnostic Technician
14. Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair essential
15. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding experience
16. Previous experience within a Main Dealer or independent garage environment
17. Experience with EV and AC systems would be advantageous
18. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
19. Full UK driving licence
