Join Our Children’s Residential Home in Liskeard, Cornwall as a Residential Child Care Worker Are you passionate about supporting children and young people to build brighter futures? Join our dedicated team in Liskeard, set within the beautiful Cornish countryside, where every day is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference. You’ll become part of a warm, child-focused team whose mission is to provide stability, safety, and enriching experiences to the young people in our care. Alongside your colleagues in our integrated services—including Clinical and Education teams—you will play a key role in delivering trauma-informed, therapeutic care that helps transform lives. No previous experience? No problem. We provide full training, guidance, and support to help you develop into a confident, skilled Residential Child Care Worker. All we ask is that you bring compassion, resilience, teamwork, and a genuine desire to make a difference. What You’ll Be Doing As a Children’s Support Worker, you’ll take part in a wide variety of activities and responsibilities, including: Outdoor and coastal adventures —surfing, paddleboarding, coastal walks, beach days, sea swimming, rock pooling, and exploring Cornwall’s stunning countryside. Activities close to Liskeard, such as moorland walks, wildlife spotting, cycling trails, and local community events. Creative and indoor fun —arts and crafts, cooking, movie nights, games, music sessions, and seasonal celebrations. Being a positive role model, supporting our young people to make safe, healthy choices. Helping to maintain a homely environment through cooking, cleaning, and learning skills like nutritional planning, first aid, and Health & Safety. Working towards your professional development, including completing your Level 3 Apprenticeship in Residential Childcare. Access to clear career pathways for progression within our organisation. Part of your role will include overnight stays (“sleep-ins”). You will complete 2–3 sleep-ins per week. The advertised salary includes payment for an average of 8 sleep-ins per month, and you will receive £50 per sleep-in. You will need strong written, verbal, and IT communication skills, a sense of fun, and an understanding of the importance of play. Ideally, you will hold a full driving licence and be over 19.
