About the Role: :
Reporting to one of the Deputy General Counsel, the Head of Property will work closely with senior stakeholders across the Group. You’ll look to deliver efficiencies and costs savings, ensuring we’re compliant with the governance and sustainability requirements of a FTSE 250 business.
Acting as the single internal company expert on all property matters, you’ll oversee our property strategy and management of over 170 tenures worldwide. These include offices, industrial buildings, operational power and pellet sites, agricultural land, dams, lochs, overhead lines, underground cables and more!
Key responsibilities include:
1. Act as the decision maker and lead negotiator on property transactions
2. Direct and manage policies for all property transactions for the business to follow
3. Instruct and partner with external consultants for specific advice and guidance when required
4. Undertake global property due diligence on any new acquisitions or land options
5. Collaborate closely with a range of stakeholders across the Group including Facilities, Finance, Legal, Procurement, ESG and People functions
Who we’re looking for:
The successful candidate will be a General Practice Chartered Surveyor with significant demonstrable experience of operating in corporate real estate, ideally within the Energy sector.
MRICS status is highly desirable and you’ll need to be confident working on global commercial property transactions at a senior level.
You’ll be able to showcase an in-depth understanding of all aspects of property occupation and ownership, coupled with a clear appreciation for commercial property values, costs and savings.
Importantly, you’ll be able to demonstrate gravitas, diplomacy and tact to drive results and influence stakeholders and partners. You’ll be comfortable presenting at ExCom/Board level and possess excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, as well as a keen attention to detail.
