Job Title: Endur Technical Architect
Location: 60/40 with 3 days in Canary Wharf OR Remote anywhere in UK
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length/End Date: 31st December with possibility of extension
Working hours: 40 hrs/week
Role Overview:
Work directly with subject matter experts, product owners, designers, technical leads, and other architects to re-architect/design the next generation Gas and Power trading platform using modern technologies, aligned with business and technology strategies. Deep knowledge of energy trading and risk management processes across front, middle, and back-office functionalities, with an emphasis on physical trading.
Responsibilities:
1. Design the architecture of modern, bespoke Energy trading systems, including documenting and agreeing on key design decisions and trade-offs with stakeholders.
2. Gather requirements, analyze, and design across functional, non-functional, technical, and operational domains.
3. Act as a thought leader in the domain, advising on delivery and design reviews.
4. Handle business changes and manage stakeholder expectations.
5. Manage communication across multiple teams, vendors, and consulting staff.
6. Understand deal lifecycle processes.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Strong understanding of physical trading, preferably Gas and/or Power, including complex contracts, optionality, and portfolio optimization. Knowledge of Options modeling and Dependency graphs.
* Experience in architecture facets such as:
o Data modeling for transactional and analytic use cases, real-time reporting, data migration, and reconciliation. Familiarity with MongoDB.
o Architecture and design patterns, AWS services, programming (C#/Java), containerization (Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes), web UI (React), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
o Integration techniques including real-time messaging (AMQ), API design, batch processing.
o DevOps practices, CI/CD, automated deployments, cloud infrastructure, Grid Computing, and cost optimization.
* Understanding of Agile methodologies.
* Ability to work independently or in small teams.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Familiarity with Microservices architecture and AWS.
* Experience in Power and/or Gas markets with full lifecycle physical energy trading.
