We’re working with a specialist setting in Peterlee that provides outstanding education and care for children and young people with autism and additional learning needs. They’re seeking a calm, committed, and autism-aware Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting pupils with autism and communication differences in small, structured classrooms
* Assisting with sensory regulation and learning activities
* Building positive relationships that help each pupil feel safe and understood
* Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to deliver tailored support
What we’re looking for:
* Experience supporting pupils with ASD or complex learning needs (school, care, or community setting)
* A patient, consistent, and empathetic approach
* Confidence working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* A full driving licence and access to a car (for a site change mid day)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
