Role: Management Accountant
Location: Durham
Salary: £45-55k
The Management Accountant is a key member of the finance team - they will work very closely with management accountants, finance assistants, sales and purchase ledger teams, and will be responsible for preparation and submission of the monthly accounts.
Key responsibilities of the Management Accountant;
* Responsible for the preparation and submission of the monthly accounts, including journal preparation and posting.
* Ensure the monthly accounts and reporting is produced accurately and within agreed timescales.
* Control of balance sheets and supporting reconciliations.
* Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
* Ensure robust financial controls are in place.
* Ensure group accounting policies and procedures are followed.
* Identify systems and performance improvement opportunities.
* Provide support to the Financial Controller as required.
* Early identification of any issues identified and flagging to management - no surprises approach.
* Dealing with auditor requests.
* Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance Department by assisting the Financial Controller in identifying and implementing improved processes and procedures.
Skills/Qualifications;
* Minimum 3 years experience in a finance role.
* Qualified ACCA/CIMA
* An aptitude for IT - Experience of Microsoft packages Excel and Outlook.
