We have phenomenal opportunities for experienced, part-time Principal Mechanical Design Engineers to work across all areas of our Product Life Cycles, from Mechanical Future Concepts, detailed Design and Qualification to Production and In-service Support. Key Responsibilities: • Lead mechanical design work packages across various product stages (Concept, Design, Qualification, Production, and In-service Support) • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver world-class mechanical solutions for complex weapons and weapon systems • Contribute to the development of mechanical solutions and tackle exciting challenges within the product lifecycle • Provide leadership for mechanical design work, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards • Engage in proving and qualification activities to ensure designs meet the required specifications The successful candidate will have: • Degree/HND/HNC qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent • Experience in Mechanical Design and Development, ideally in areas like Mechanisms, Structures, Assembly and Integration, and Concept down selection • Ability to lead mechanical design work packages and navigate the challenges of multi-disciplinary teamwork • Experience in the full product lifecycle (CADMID) and awareness of qualification activities • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with stakeholders This position offers a lucrative benefits package, which includes but is not inclusive of: • Company bonus: Up to £2,500 (based on company performance) • Pension: Maximum total contribution of up to 14% (employer and employee) • Overtime: Opportunity for paid overtime • Flexi Leave: Up to 15 additional days • Flexible working arrangements • Enhanced parental leave (up to 26 weeks for maternity, adoption, and shared parental leave) • Subsidised site facilities and free parking • Excellent career progression and training / career development opportunities If this role looks like your next challenge, please contact Keelan ASAP or apply via this advert!
