ICS Governance & Control sits within International Card Services (ICS) which comprises of all the issuing functions across all 28 international markets excluding the US - colleagues operate across a variety of geographies and disciplines. ICS issues products to our Consumer and Commercial customers - the organization is an integral part of the global growth strategy for American Express; offering differentiated products and services is critical to our success and promises to drive significant growth and value through the delivery of innovative products, tailored to the needs of our customers.

What type of work can you expect to do in within Business Risk Strategy?

Business Risk Strategy will offer you varied experiences and a view of end-to-end business management. Your opportunities are diverse; you could be working on anti-money laundering, automated testing, process engineering, strategy, third party risk, among a broad range of other possibilities.

The American Express 10 week Summer Internship Programme gives you the opportunity to kickstart your career by leading meaningful projects that make an impact, whilst developing world-class leadership skills. You will experience new challenges, build a diverse skillset, and gain insight into how American Express acquires and markets to customers, while ensuring we are meeting local and regional regulatory requirements. You will get a unique mix of strategy, project management, and problem-solving experience in an international and fast-moving environment. The Summer Internship Programme commences in June 2026 for 10 weeks. It consists of the following components:
* Introduction to American Express through an induction day and training sessions
* Meaningful projects which will have real business impact
* Opportunities to develop technical and interpersonal skills
* Regular Speaker Series with senior management
* Social and networking events
* Structured management process and regular feedback
* The possibility of a return offer as a Graduate
Qualifications - External:

Educational Requirements:
* Currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate degree programme (any degree discipline) in your penultimate year of study
