The Role

This is a rewarding and highly visible role where you will play a key part in promoting road safety and making a positive difference every day.

What you’ll do

As a School Crossing Patrol, you will take on a vital role in your community – helping children and families cross the road safely during busy school run times. You will be a calm and reassuring presence at designated crossing points, ensuring pedestrians are protected and traffic is managed with care and confidence. The position involves working 10 hours per week during school term time, typically one hour in the morning and one in the afternoon, and will provide you with a uniform to keep you protected in all weather conditions.

• Responsible, reliable and committed to making Hampshire’s roads safer for children and other pedestrians.
• Good traffic awareness, able to stay alert in all conditions.
• A calm and approachable manner, able to work independently and confidently use basic IT systems.
• Ability to manage traffic and pedestrians in a safe and effective manner during peak times.
