Aramark UK is currently recruiting a Cook in Bath, BA2 6EJ, to prepare home-cooked meals for those experiencing homelessness. You will assist with preparing breakfast and dinner for residents daily. This role allows for creativity and the freedom to prepare different meals for residents experiencing homelessness. It is not a fast-paced kitchen environment; instead, it emphasizes quality and creativity, rewarding you with personal pride and the knowledge that your work benefits others.
Our client is a Christian charity whose mission is to meet human needs without discrimination. The site offers a range of services supporting individuals with addiction, mental health issues, homelessness, and those involved in the criminal justice system.
Due to the unpredictable environment, this role requires a candidate who is strong-willed, empathetic, and accepting of people from all walks of life. While challenging, this work is also rewarding and provides opportunities to learn skills such as de-escalation, useful in many areas of life.

* This is a part-time position, 25 hours per week, working 5 days over 7, including some weekends. Shifts range between 7.30am - 6pm.
* The hourly rate is £14, with double pay on Bank Holidays and overtime where applicable.

A day in the life of a Cook:
* Preparing hot and cold foods, serving breakfast, main meals, and desserts in a canteen-style environment within a homeless lifehouse.
* Managing catering assistants or KP staff onsite.
* Following or creating meal menus, with time to get creative for a small number of residents.
* Serving at the hot counter during breakfast and dinner, interacting with residents, and monitoring dish availability.
* Maintaining food safety standards and cleaning areas.
You will be set up for success if you have:
* A relevant cookery or culinary qualification is desirable; however, a minimum of 2 years catering experience will be considered.
* Food hygiene level 2 is desirable but can be obtained via our online e-learning portal.
