Purpose of the role
To design, develop, and implement solutions to complex business problems, collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements, and designing solutions that meet those needs while balancing technology risks and business delivery to promote consistency.
Accountabilities
1. Design and develop solutions as products that can evolve, meeting business requirements aligned with modern software engineering practices and automated delivery tooling. This includes selecting and implementing appropriate technologies and platforms.
2. Apply targeted design strategies that optimize workload placement and maximize cloud capabilities such as elasticity, serverless, and containerization.
3. Incorporate security principles (like defence in depth and blast radius reduction) into best practice designs that meet the Bank’s resiliency standards.
4. Create solutions that balance risks and controls to deliver the intended business and technological value.
5. Utilize standard solutions where appropriate; contribute to their ongoing development when necessary.
6. Support fault finding and performance troubleshooting for operational support teams using available tools.
7. Assess the impact of solutions in terms of risk, capacity, and cost, including estimating project change and ongoing operational costs.
8. Develop architecture inputs to comply with governance processes, including design artifacts for architecture, privacy, security, and records management.
9. Provide advice on complex issues, supporting resolution of escalated problems.
10. Identify risk mitigation strategies and develop policies/procedures to support control and governance objectives.
11. Manage risks and enhance controls related to your work.
12. Collaborate with other teams to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
13. Analyze data from multiple sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.
14. Communicate complex or sensitive information clearly to diverse audiences.
15. Influence stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
