The role
As an Assistant Project Planner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of our project delivery team, supporting the planning and coordination of key defence and engineering programmes. This is a fantastic opportunity to kickstart your career in project management, working alongside experienced professionals and contributing to projects that protect communities and support national security.
Day-to-day, you’ll be:
1. Collating and updating planning information to support the Project Planner
2. Producing management reports from project schedules to agreed timelines
3. Ensuring accuracy of all received and issued data
4. Updating and distributing scheduling outputs weekly
5. Assisting in the creation of schedules under guidance from the Senior Project Planner
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Assistant Project Planner
6. Understanding of project control and monitoring techniques
7. Familiarity with planning software such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
8. Strong communication skills with the ability to present information clearly
