Gloucestershire's largest comprehensive school, with over 200 staff and 1,700 students, is seeking an Art Technician to support the department's smooth and safe operation and to promote a positive learning environment through high standards of visual display and presentation in collaboration with the Head of Art and Design.
Responsibilities include:
1. Organising and maintaining studios, resources, equipment, consumables, and the library.
2. Maintaining high standards of displays and presentations with management.
3. Managing specialist ceramics equipment, including processing clay, glazes, and kilns.
4. Handling digital equipment such as cameras, laptops, storage devices, speakers, amplifiers, photocopiers, and printers.
5. Performing photocopying, administration, and correspondence tasks.
6. Managing material orders and liaising with suppliers, finance, and reception.
7. Supporting teachers during lessons and with projects, including creating learning resources.
8. Ensuring Health and Safety/Fire safety compliance, maintaining records and audits.
9. Advising the Head of Art and Design on relevant matters.
10. Handling routine enquiries via phone and face-to-face, and meeting visitors, staff, and students.
11. Setting up and reconfiguring teaching and meeting spaces as needed.
Requirements:
* A qualification related to the art sector.
* Experience working within the art sector.
* Awareness of Health and Safety regulations.
* Experience using ICT.
