Senior M&E Surveyor / Commercial Manager
Location: Scotland (projects across Central Belt & beyond)
Salary: Up to £85,000 per annum DOE + excellent benefits
The Opportunity
One of the most exciting M&E building services contractors going into 2026 is looking to appoint a Senior M&E Surveyor or Commercial Manager to support continued growth and an impressive forward order book. This is a key commercial leadership role within a progressive and well‑respected business delivering complex M&E projects across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, distilling & brewing, energy and infrastructure sectors. With multiple live projects and a strong pipeline of secured and tendered work, this role offers real influence, autonomy, and long‑term progression.
Role Overview
You will take ownership of the commercial management of M&E projects from pre‑contract through to final account, working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered profitably, efficiently, and in line with contractual requirements.
This role would suit either
* An experienced Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor ready to step up
* An established Commercial Manager looking for a fresh challenge within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Financial Management
* Full commercial responsibility for multiple M&E projects.
* Preparation and management of project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
* Management of applications for payment, variations, and final accounts.
* Identify commercial risks and opportunities and implement mitigation strategies.
Contract & Procurement
* Manage subcontract procurement, negotiation, and appointment.
* Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
* Support pre‑construction and tendering activity where required.
Project Support & Leadership
* Work closely with Project Managers and site teams to drive commercial performance.
* Provide commercial advice and leadership across the business.
* Support junior commercial staff through mentoring and guidance.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
* Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
* Lead commercial meetings and contribute to project reviews.
* Support repeat business and long‑term client relationships.
Candidate Profile
* Strong experience as an M&E Quantity Surveyor / Senior QS / Commercial Manager within building services.
* Proven track record managing commercial aspects of medium to large‑scale M&E projects.
* Sound knowledge of contracts, commercial processes, and cost control.
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Proactive, commercially astute, and solutions‑focused.
* Relevant qualifications (or equivalent experience) preferred.
