Position: Electrical Commissioning Engineer (HV/LV)
Contract: 12 months potentially ongoing – Hourly PAYE rate
Location: On site – Flexible working hours
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to take technical ownership of HV and LV electrical systems. This is a hands-on, senior role where you will lead pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, ensuring safe energisation and seamless integration into live operations.
As an Electrical Commissioning Engineer, you will:
* Develop and execute commissioning plans for HV and LV systems.
* Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
* Provide technical guidance to electrical teams and technicians.
* Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical queries.
* Ensure all electrical works are completed safely and in line with industry standards.
* Maintain accurate commissioning documentation and red-line work packs.
* Execute and uphold Authority to Commission processes.
The ideal Electrical Commissioning Engineer will have:
* Proven experience with HV switchgear, transformers, protection & control systems, and VSDs.
* Strong background in industrial environments (oil & gas, petrochemical, or heavy industry).
* Knowledge of 11kV and 415V distribution, BS 7671 Wiring Regulations, and hazardous area protection.
* Excellent coordination and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and lead commissioning teams.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or extensive commissioning experience.
* Senior Authorised Person (SAP) status is a strong advantage.
