Job Title Business Change Associate Job Family TSD Division Operations - Change Reports To Business Change Manager E Department Change Directorate No. Direct Reports None Team Departmental Change Teams No. Indirect Reports None Background Describe The Work Of The Team And The Department Our Change Directorate is at the forefront of our ambition to transform the FCA into a data-led regulator, and our work enables the FCA to effectively regulate some of the UK’s most complex financial markets. Within the Change Directorate, our Departmental Change Teams (DCT) work closely with business areas to deliver business change activities in support of technology, regulation, process and behavioural changes. DSTs are made up of key change disciplines such as business change, project management and business analysis. We are looking for Business Change practitioners to join our Departmental Change Teams to help to deliver our portfolio. Successful candidates will be responsible for the people side of business and technical change; they will have experience of delivering end-to-end business and technology change in challenging environments, will demonstrate stakeholder management and communication skills, and use their problem-solving, proactive mindset to collaborate with others developing and implementing appropriate change management strategies on projects and programmes. What does this job involve? List The Key Responsibilities Of This Job Analysing stakeholder groups and driving stakeholder engagement and management to support project and programme delivery. Developing detailed change impact assessments and securing a shared view of these impacts across areas impacted, the programme team and the business area sponsoring the change. Developing effective and appropriate change interventions and deliverables in conjunction with the business and programme team to manage these impacts. Change activities will include, amongst others: the establishment and leadership of change champion networks, communication plans, engagement materials, training needs analysis, go-live readiness plans and supporting the transition to BAU teams. Working closely with project and programme teams to deliver change aligned to the FCA’s Change Delivery Framework and collaborating with other areas to ensure a joined-up experience for end users. Being an active member of the Business Change practice, supporting the development of content for capability frameworks, best practice methodologies and deliverable frameworks. Required proven experience in a specific technical area or skill: Previous experience of delivering organisational change involving changes to people, policies, processes, technology, structure, behaviour, and new ways of working. Understands business change principles and applies them in concert or with support from other business change colleagues. An understanding of change management theory in the context of a delivery framework such as waterfall or agile Essential Criteria Required role-specific know-how, skills and behaviours Good organisational skills: ability to manage competing priorities and workload in a fast-paced environment. Experience of stakeholder management with a range of stakeholders. Knowledge of how change management fits within both a waterfall and agile project delivery framework and experience of project planning. Experience of reporting updates to the project manager, including people related risks and issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: excellent written and oral communication and able to articulate messages clearly to different audiences. Gives and receives information clearly and concisely and encourage open dialogue by listening and engaging in debate as appropriate to create ownership and commitment. Works successfully with others, valuing and using the different skills and expertise of colleagues across an organisation to achieve business outcomes. Competent user of all Microsoft Office applications Ability to travel to FCA Stratford office as required for team or project meetings Desirable criteria Role-specific Know-how, Skills And Behaviours That Would Be Advantageous PROSCI or other business change qualifications. Proven experience of working in a business change role on a project or programme Ability to understand structures and business priorities and build credibility quickly.
