We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Overhead Crane Service Engineer to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge, hands-on experience with overhead crane systems, and excellent fault-finding abilities. A safety-conscious mindset and willingness to travel are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Install, service, and repair overhead crane systems, including motors, drives, gearboxes, and lifting equipment.
Carry out routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency fault-finding.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and technical documentation.
Work safely at heights using scissor lifts (up to 20m+), adhering to all health & safety regulations.
Complete accurate service reports, maintenance logs, and compliance documentation.
Travel to customer sites, including occasional overnight and international work when required.
Respond to call-outs as part of the engineering rota.
Provide excellent customer service and communicate technical information clearly.
Assist with modifications, assembly, and improvements to crane systems when needed.
Requirements
Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Hands-on experience with overhead crane systems (preferred).
Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
Knowledge of drives, motors, and gearboxes essential.
Comfortable working at heights; IPAF certification preferred.
LEEA certification is an advantage.
Willingness to travel, including some overnight stays and occasional international work.
Flexibility to attend call-outs when required.
Strong awareness of health & safety practices.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Hours
Monday Thursday: 8:00am 4:30pm
Friday: 8:00am 2:00pm
Flexibility required.
Salary
£35,000 £55,000 per annum (depending on experience).
With potential for higher.
