Maintenance Fitter - Antrim - Weekend Shift (x2 positions available) - Starting Rate - £ p/h

Your Role
As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance within the Antrim production facility, including factory buildings and machinery. Your duties include mechanical and electrical repairs to ensure the facility runs effectively and efficiently.
Core responsibilities include:
1. Implement continuous improvements to processes and machinery to reduce costs and enhance productivity.
2. Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs on plant and machinery.
3. Diagnose faults and troubleshoot issues on equipment.
4. Maintain machinery according to schedules.
5. Ensure the production facility operates smoothly through ongoing improvements.
6. Maintain a safe and tidy work environment following safety procedures.
7. Operate CHP and dust extraction systems efficiently.
8. Accurately document maintenance activities.
9. Collaborate with team members and management.
10. Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
1. At least 1 year of experience working with electrical and mechanical machinery in a fast-paced environment.
2. Knowledge of managing maintenance workloads and meeting deadlines.
3. ONC/OND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent, or a time-served apprentice.
4. Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand tools.
5. Ability to MIG/Arc/TIG weld.
6. Computer literacy (Word, Excel).
7. High safety awareness and initiative.
8. Ability to prioritize, respond to emergencies, and solve problems creatively.
9. Flexibility with working hours for shift cover and maintenance.
Desired skills include experience with lean production systems, knowledge of steam boiler plants, and a mechanical background with electrical skills.
