Offer description

AMLZ Recruiting is the executive search brand of AMLZ GmbH, headquartered in Wiesbaden, Germany. We specialize in placing exceptional professionals and executives with leading companies worldwide. Backed by a global network and deep industry expertise, we connect top talent with innovative organizations across a wide range of sectors.

Our client is a leading, research-driven manufacturing group based near Shanghai, China. With a strong track record of translating advanced battery R&D into real-world impact, they run modern pilot-to-mass-production programs, operate scalable manufacturing platforms, and collaborate across industry and academia to deliver high-value, production-grade energy storage solutions.

This role starts in March 2026 with a remote-first setup. If specific lab, pilot-line, or factory trials are required, short, fully sponsored on-site sprints in China can be scheduled by mutual agreement. Compensation is very competitive, with additional allowances for any agreed on-site participation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead research and hands-on development in next-generation battery technologies and energy storage processes.

• Own the lifecycle from lab concept to pilot and mass production: process design, scale-up, validation, and SOP documentation.

• Collaborate with cell/module/pack engineering, manufacturing, quality, and automation teams to ensure reliability and consistency.

• Deliver measurable improvements in yield, cost, safety, and performance through data-driven process optimization.

• Manage and coordinate production-line R&D projects to meet milestones and targets.

Your Profile

• Ideally holding a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Polymer Science, Electrochemistry, Mechatronics, Materials Science (or related field), or equivalent industry experience.

• Ideally 3+ years of relevant experience in power battery R&D or production process engineering.

• Familiarity with lithium-ion cell design, manufacturing flow, and production line equipment; exposure to module/pack process design.

• Experience with process development and scale-up (e.g., DOE, SPC, FMEA); strong problem-solving and documentation habits.

• English is the working language; additional languages are a plus.

We Offer

• Very competitive salary package and comprehensive benefits.

• Remote-first working model with optional short on-site exchanges by mutual agreement.

• Housing and family allowances available when on-site work is arranged.

• Access to cutting-edge tools and real-world, high-impact applications.

• Dynamic and innovative environment with clear growth opportunities.
