Tradewind Recruitment is seeking enthusiastic, supportive, and adaptable Employment Coaches to work across a variety of schools and specialist settings with students aged 14 to 23 who have Special Educational Needs. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about helping young people develop essential life skills, workplace readiness, and employability confidence - even if you have never worked in a school before.
We are looking for people from all kinds of backgrounds, including youth work, customer service, health and social care, coaching, mentoring, retail management, hospitality, community support, or any role where relationship-building and communication are key. If you are someone who can motivate, encourage, and empower young people, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Support students in developing core life skills such as communication, teamwork, time management, and independence.
Deliver or assist with sessions focused on employability skills, including CV writing, interview preparation, workplace behaviour, and job search techniques.
Build positive, trusting relationships with young people who may have learning difficulties, social emotional needs, or barriers to engagement.
Encourage students to set personal goals and support them in taking steps towards further education, apprenticeships, or employment.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN teams, and external partners when required.
Adapt activities and support strategies to meet individual needs.
Maintain a calm, patient, and motivational approach in all interactions.
